Just my rant; bare with me
We recently got Netflix and Disney. Don't rag on me about how woke they are, I know, they they're still good movies, so whatever, or most of them are anyway. The thing that struck me here lately is the number of supposedly badass women are in these movies. They're all pretty and shapely, and very female. I'm willing to bet that almost none of those girls ever held a weapon for longer than it took to take the shot. I mean seriously, it takes some muscle to have skill with a gun of any sort, and especially with a sword or knife of any kind, let alone hand to hand fighting. It's bad enough when a guy has no muscle to back up whatever skill they're supposed to have. The girls' claim to badassness is not combing their hair - ever, and I'm not talking about it getting messed up as they go along, and them not having a comb, no, some of the girls could take time to tend their hair. I find it lazy on the part of the costume and makeup people.
The two series we watched ended up with only women being the survivors - well, there was the token guy here and there. It really is a bad thing when estrogen rules. There's a reason why were so few Queens and no female presidents (yet). God forbid it ever happens. Face it, women feel, men think. Men and women are fundamentally different. Each have their part to play. They both need to stop trying to play the other part.
The last series we watched had a couple girls in it that actually convinced me that they could do the job. Other girls in that show were believable, even one shy small woman who joined the military; I was convinced by her too. She was female, and not the strongest or meanest in the show, but she tried to do her best.
